On 31st March 2009, eight national design associations/institutes signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together and share resources so as to act as a collective force for the advancement and promotion of the Singapore Design Industry.

In the course of its formation, the leaders from these associations identified the need for a unified marketing and promotional platform in order to sharpen our shared competitive edge. This has led to the adoption of the ‘DesignS’ brand which will be the unified platform to promote and advance our ideas and solutions globally.

One of the inaugural projects since its inception was the “PUSH” Award hosted by SIA at the Annual Dinner on 15th May 2009 to acknowledge and recognize award winners from the various Institutes/Associations in positioning Singapore as a hub for design excellence. The award will show the world our multi-disciplinary capabilities and the relentless effort to ‘push’  beyond limits so as to achieve design excellence.
